OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Employment in a covered establishment by insured persons under the Maharashtra Mathadi, Hamal and Other Manual Workers Act, 1969, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Labour Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which employment in a covered establishment by insured persons is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Mathadi, Hamal and Other Manual Workers Act, 1969.

2. The matter has been examined. Every insured person carrying on employment in a covered establishment shall make an application in Form 12 to the Corporation within forty-two days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which employment in a covered establishment is undertaken, and the Corporation shall dispose of it within forty-two days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Maharashtra.
