STANDING ORDER

To

All Inspectors,

Subject: The running of a factory by occupiers under the Tamil Nadu Industrial Establishments (Conferment of Permanent Status to Workmen) Act, 1981, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Establishments (Conferment of Permanent Status to Workmen) Act, 1981 (Tamil Nadu Act 46 of 1981), the Labour Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a factory by occupiers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every occupier carrying on the running of a factory shall make an application in Form III to the Chief Inspector within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Inspector shall ensure that establishment is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Chief Inspector within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
