OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The maintenance of records by record officers under the Uttar Pradesh Lokayukta and Upa-Lokayuktas Act, 1975, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the General Administration Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh on the manner in which the maintenance of records by record officers is to be regulated under the Uttar Pradesh Lokayukta and Upa-Lokayuktas Act, 1975.

2. The matter has been examined. Every record officer carrying on the maintenance of records shall make an application in Form C to the Government of Uttar Pradesh within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the maintenance of records is undertaken, and the Government of Uttar Pradesh shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
