STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars,

Subject: The taking of evidence on commission by commissioners appointed by the court under the Tamil Nadu Court Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1955, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Court Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1955 (Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1955), the Law Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the taking of evidence on commission by commissioners appointed by the court.

2. The matter has been examined. Every commissioner appointed by the court carrying on the taking of evidence on commission shall make an application in Form A to the Registrar within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Registrar shall ensure that process is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
