New Delhi, dated the 10th October, 2006

STANDING ORDER

To

All Tahsildars,

Subject: The occupation of land by occupants under the Delhi Land Reforms Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Delhi Land Reforms Act, 1954 (Delhi Act 8 of 1954), the Environment Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the occupation of land by occupants.

2. The matter has been examined. Every occupant carrying on the occupation of land shall make an application in Form 1 to the Collector within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Tahsildar shall ensure that holding is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Collector within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
