Chennai, dated the 21st September, 2006

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The holding of land by landholders under the Tamil Nadu Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1961, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the holding of land by landholders is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1961.

2. The matter has been examined. Every landholder carrying on the holding of land shall make an application in Form 7 to the State Government within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the holding of land is undertaken, and the State Government shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
