Recital: "Promulgated by the Governor in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India. An Ordinance further to amend the Tamil Nadu Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1961 (Tamil Nadu Act 58 of 1961). WHEREAS the Legislature of Tamil Nadu is not in session and the Governor is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary to take immediate action; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of article 213 of the Constitution, the Governor of Tamil Nadu is pleased to promulgate the following Ordinance: This Ordinance shall cease to operate at the expiration of six weeks from the reassembly of the Legislature of the State, as clause (2) of article 213 of the Constitution provides.".
