Ms. No. 3569\nGOVERNMENT OF TAMIL NADU\nTransport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu\nChennai, dated the 6th April, 2026\nGOVERNMENT ORDER\nSubject: The carriage of goods for hire by owners of a goods carriage under the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1974, regarding.\n\n1. In the circumstances reported by the Highway Administration Officer, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every owner of a goods carriage carrying on the carriage of goods for hire shall furnish Form 23 to the State Transport Authority within fifteen days.\n2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a goods carriage carrying on the carriage of goods for hire shall make an application in Form 23 to the State Transport Authority within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.\n3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the carriage of goods for hire is undertaken, and the State Transport Authority shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.\n4.
