Ms. No. 3354\nGOVERNMENT OF TAMIL NADU\nConsumer Affairs Department, Government of Tamil Nadu\nChennai, dated the 20th April, 2026\nGOVERNMENT ORDER\nSubject: The keeping of a village shop by keepers of a village shop under the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994, regarding.\n\n1. In the circumstances reported by the Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every keeper of a village shop carrying on the keeping of a village shop shall furnish Form 3 to the Director of Panchayats within ninety days.\n2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of a village shop carrying on the keeping of a village shop shall make an application in Form 3 to the Director of Panchayats within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.\n3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the keeping of a village shop is undertaken, and the Director of Panchayats shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.\n4.
