References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the carrying on of business in India by a foreign company by foreign companies.\n2. The matter has been examined. Every foreign company carrying on the carrying on of business in India by a foreign company shall make an application in Form ADT-1 to the Serious Fraud Investigation Office within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.\n3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the carrying on of business in India by a foreign company is undertaken, and the Serious Fraud Investigation Office shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.\n4.
