References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the possession of land by persons in possession of land.\n2. The matter has been examined. Every person in possession of land carrying on the possession of land shall make an application in Form 2 to the Settlement Officer within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.\n3. The Tahsildar shall ensure that demand notice is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within one hundred and twenty days.\n4.
